Elaine is the head of Internal Audit of a public sector agency. She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), has Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), and Certified Public Accountant (Philippines). She has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

She has over 30 years of management and leadership experience in the financial and information technology industries and public sector. She also has extensive experience in internal audit, risks management, and internal controls, having over 20 years of internal and external audit experience. In addition, she has close to 10 years of financial and operations experience. Elaine’s organisation won the 2015 inaugural Mastering Risk award for public sector in Canada to recognize their best practices in risk management and internal audit.

Elaine is passionate in volunteering. She has actively volunteered in various leadership capacity at Parents Advisory Council, Catholic community and parish, and professional organizations.

Elaine is also passionate about the internal audit profession that she has been an active member and volunteer of the Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) since 1997. She has served in several roles on the Vancouver Chapter since 2002, including President and Governor. She is currently the District Representative of IIA Canada West and a member of the Chapter Relations Committee of IIA North America. She was also a committee co-chair for the 2010 IIA Canada National Conference in Vancouver and the 2015 IIA International Conference. She was a speaker at various IIA chapter and national events.

Elaine is also a member of the Workers Compensation Boards Internal Audit Leaders group in Canada, BC Public Sector Internal Audit Leaders group, and was an Audit Committee member of the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC).
